Outlet Project in Clarksburg MD is Dead......Not!

Oh no! 
The news hit like a virus all over Clarksburg residents
A simple announcement from Tanger Factory Outlets on May 1st 20014

"Tanger announced it was abandoning its proposed project in Montgomery County as well as one in Scottsdale, AZ" according to the Washington Business Journal

Apparently Tanger Factory Outlets Centers Inc. has decided to can the project bringing their business into Clarksburg Maryland. 
After  a long hard fight with city and county leaders, after spending 1.6 million dollars for pre-development costs., they threw the towel in and wished they never heard of Clarksburg Maryland and Ten Mile Creek (a huge reason for their expense) 

This is bad news for Tanger Factory Outlets
But, 
It is good news for a company named Simon Property Group because they also had another proposal to open a high premium outlet center just outside exit #18 Clarksburg - Boyds exit on I-270 
Tanger lost
Simon won!

Yes, the news around Clarksburg is that the outlet center idea is dead...
But, most people do not realize that the Clarksburg Premium Outlets Center from Simon Property Group has been approved!!!

They were two applications and there was only one winner!
Simon says..."we will be open for business on Spring 2016!"

Let's break in the champagne!

Simon Property Group is located in Indianapolis Indiana and they are known to bring only high premium stores to their "mall" outlets. 
Don't expect to see Walmart on their grounds. .
