How We Calculate Your Home Sale Proceeds

ESTIMATED CHARGES FOR A TYPICAL HOME THAT SELLS IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY MD FOR $500,000 

Montgomery County Transfer Tax 1% of sales price from $70,000 or more (This is typically splitted 50-50 between the buyer and the seller -- $500,000 sales price: Buyer and Seller pays $2,500 each) 

State Transfer Tax is 1/2% (This is typically splitted 50/50 between the buyer and the seller -- $500,000 sales price: Buyer and Seller pays $1,250 each) 

Recordation Tax is   .69% of sales price up to $500,000 ---1.0% of any portion of sales price over $500,000 (This is typically splitted 50-50 between the buyer and the seller -- $500,000 sales price?  Take .69% of $500,000 = $3450 then Buyer and Seller pays $1,725 each) 

Attorney fees, settlement fees, release preparation fees, recording fees, messenger fees are in average under $1,000 for a typical $500,000 sale. This part is not splitted 50/50 between buyer & seller
